Our Staff
Veterinarians
James Mathew McQuade , DVM Dr. McQuade was raised in western Kansas, graduating from Ashland High School. He attended undergrad college at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma and also attended one year at UCO here in Edmond. He entered the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
After graduating from OSU, Dr. McQuade began in 1986 working in a small animal medicine practice, which was the beginning of working in several practices since in northwest Oklahoma City. He moved to Edmond in 2002 and became an associate at Kickingbird Animal Clinic in March 2005. Dr. McQuade is currently a member of COVMA. |

Lucas Ryan McFarland , DVM Dr. McFarland was raised in Wagoner, Oklahoma graduating from Wagoner High School. He attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a Bachelor in Health and Sports Science. He then went on to OSU in Stillwater, Oklahoma graduating in 2004 with a DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduation, Dr. McFarland began practicing medicine at a small animal clinic in Wichita Falls, Texas. He became an associate at Kickingbird Animal Clinic in July 2005. Dr. McFarland and his wife, Christy, are the proud parents of twin 1-year-old daughters. They share their home with their black Labrador named Jeter. |

Megan Nicole Mee , DVM
Dr. Mee was raised in Edmond, Oklahoma graduating from Edmond Memorial High School. She attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She then went on to OSU in Stillwater, Oklahoma graduating in 2009 with a DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine.
She became an associate at Kickingbird Animal Clinic in July 2009. In her free time, Dr. Mee enjoys spending time with family, friends and her Dachshunds - Lily, Izzy, Pretzel & Riley. |

Management Staff
Mandy Fields , Office Manager Mandy has been with Kickingbird since 2005 and just recenlty accepted the Office Manager postion. Mandy was born and raised in Oklahoma City and now resides in Guthrie with her family. She graduated from NW Classen High School and attended classes at UCO. She is an avid reader and also writes in her spare time, she is also apart of the the Oklahoma Writers Foundation.
Elliot Fields , Hospital Manager Elliot has been with Kickingbird since 2006 and was just recently promoted to the Hospital Manager position. Elliot was raised in Quitaque,Texas and attended Valley High School and later moved to Oklahoma where he attended classes at UCO. He now resides with his wife and children in Guthrie.

Employee of the Month
We would like to recognize Deb Butkus, our January Employee of the Month. Deb was nominated for this award by her co-workers for many reasons. She works hard each day, she is always very helpful, she goes over and above to help out in her area and in other areas and she is just all around awesome!! Deb is greatly appreciated because she has all of the qualities of a desired employee and co-worker. We look forward to many future endeavors with such an outstanding member of our staff!
